The Baby Show blog on The Brighton Baby Expo getting rave reviews…

November 13th saw Brighton’s Baby Expo at the Brighton and Hove Albion Football Ground and many of the Exhibitors have chosen to share their thoughts on the day with us. We followed the day on twitter so we could see that it was a busy day with good footfall… Here’s a round up of the reviews from Exhibitors…..

Sarah Watkins
A fantastic day with so many great products and services. A brilliant place to launch our pioneering antenatal classes and free pregnancy website. The event was extremely well organised and run, with bacon rolls and coffee on tap, and a great list of fellow exhibitors meant we made some great new contacts as well as meeting many new potential customers. Fab day can’t wait until next year! and

We have been to every Brighton Baby Expo and this was far and away the best one so far. Loads of good quality visitors, a nice big venue and a great buzz on the day. Can’t wait to sign up for the next one!

Marilyn Bradshaw
The Flexible Working Zone was a brilliant addition this year and really gave us the opportunity to showcase What’s On 4 Me ( to a relevent audience of parents looking for flexible work. Can’t wait for next year!!

As always, The Brighton Baby Expo was such a fantastically run event! We’ve been coming down to Brighton each year for the past three years and it has been a huge success each time; continuously growing and giving companies such as ourselves the opportunity to raise brand awareness and show people the advantages of our products! We had lots of interest throughout the day, and each stall around us was always full of interested customers. We will definitely be joining in the fun next year!

As media partners once again this year pleased to report on another fabulous event – well done indeed to Suzanne and the team. Great to meet so many happy advertisers and lovely readers – a really super day for all involved. Counting the days down to next year already!

Adeline Garman
A thoroughly enjoyable day out for exhibitors, sponsors and visitors alike. We talked to lots of lovely parents, and parents-to-be, and took a number of enquiries so it was definitely worth exhibiting. On a personal note I thought the activities in the parent’s pitstop were great, as was Mister Maker. I also managed to pick up a number of Christmas goodies so all in all a fantastic day and I lok forward to next year.!/pages/Early-Years-Childcare/224308114254753

We had a great time meeting Sussex’s bumps and babies. The event organisers were really helpful, helping us move our stand and boxes before set up and had the time to answer our queries before opening. This was our first official Brighton Mums stand at a baby show, we were so busy we ran out of our cupcakes by 12:30!

I thought Suzanne did a fabulous job of the 2011 baby expo, she addressed all the issues of last year’s show. Fabulous venue, great pre show advertising, good footfall throughout the day, if anything too busy in the morning!! My only wish for next year ( and we’ll certainly be there next year ) would be DECENT COFFEE :) Well done Suzanne and thanks for another great show. From Julie and Sarah . Tumble Tots Sussex

Another great show. Loads of visitors who loved meeting our animals! Look forward to next years show.

Do you have anything to add? What did you think of the Show? The whole of point of is to be an online community where we all share what’s working, what isn’t and what we can all do to make sure that Baby Shows, Baby Expos, Baby Fairs and Baby Exhibitions can be great days our for families, exhibitors and the people who work so hard to organise them. To do this, we need your input, opinion and expertise, so please join in, write reviews and become part of the conversation.

What do I need to take when Exhibiting at a Baby Show, Baby Expo, Baby Fayre or Baby and Toddler Show?

In my career so far, I’ve organised everything from a local village hall event for friends and family to dinner, funfair and fireworks for 400 at the National Maritime Museum. The one thing that’s kept me going is my magic bag of tricks, to ensure that no matter what happens, I’m able to cope with whatever is thrown at me…
With that in mind, I’d like us all to come up with a definitive check list of what should be in your “magic bag” for when you Exhibit at a baby show, baby expo, baby fayre or baby and toddler show. (Whatever it’s called they all have the same purpose – to help us meet our customers and potential customers!)
I’ll make the list into a pdf document that we can all share together so that you can print it and make use of it going forwards.
I’ll start us off with the following:
Blue tack
Post it notes
Business cards
Pen and notepaper – lined and plain in case I have to “customise” signage ;)
What else can you think of? Things that you personally will need, things for your customers and visitors and things for your business? I’m sure we must be able to get to 50 things, so lets go.

Baby Show Blog on… interesting stats and comments from Suzanne from Baby Expo

I asked Suzanne from Baby Expo to write a guest blog for me. She’s going to one, to review the highs and lows of the baby show shortly, but in the meantime, I’ve managed to get some stats and quotes from her whilst we wait for the full review…

Headline stats and things to know / check out…

Lynsey from Heart said: “Just wanted to say thanks again for the Baby Expo…we really enjoyed it and got a great deal on our buggy. Chuffed to bits and very excited about it being delivered! Thanks also for fixing me up with Debbie (Stevens of Wellbeing Events)…I had some amazing reflexology and she taught me all sorts of things about to stay relaxed etc. What a lovely lady. Hope you’re recovering now after what must have been a crazy weekend for you and your team.”

Visitors described it as

  • A long and tiring day but definitely a day worth doing!
  • A great day at the @babyexposuz, me, hubby daughter and bump thought it was fab! Bought some great bits!
  • The best yet – so great that the Region now has it’s own big baby show and there’s no need to trek to London

So, does this sound like the Show that you visited last weekend? What were the good bits? Were there any bad bits? Or not so good bits – no show is ever perfect so we want to hear all about it! And Suzanne always wants feedback as well, so it would be good have some comments on this blog. And then other Show Organisers are able to learn from your experiences as well :)

Baby Show Exhibitor Information Request Roundup – 10/11/11

This week has been a busy week for UK Baby Shows. We have seen a steady increase in requests for exhibitor packs and along with the changes being made to the site we are reaching more of you lovely people too.

Popular requests this week have been the Baby and Children’s Market Christmas Gift Fair Swindon on 19 November and Lancashire’s Mother, Baby and Toddler Christmas Fair on 11 December.

It’s nice to see so many of you preparing for next year too, with the Leicester Baby and Toddler Show on 11 March 2012 having a fair chunk of our exhibitor pack requests. Are you thinking of attending more shows next year? Keep checking out our reviews to find the ones best suited to you and your business.

This weekend there’s several events happening, including The Baby and Children’s Christmas Gift Fair in Swindon and the Brentwood Baby and Toddler Expo on Satrurday 19 November. And on Sunday 20 November, there’s the London Baby and Toddler Christmas Show

If you go to one of them, make sure you leave a review of it, so other people can work out if they are worth going to next year!

Turtle Tots talk about the Baby Shows they’ve attended

Launching officially in September this year, Turtle Tots wanted to be out and about as much as possible and put in place a robust marketing plan, that included exhibiting at several events, including baby and toddler shows. Caroline Sparks tells us about the ones they’ve attended to date… (more…)
